Then why not use existing armors? Think of all the cool armors the enemies have - stone summit, the mursaat, white mantle. Even NPCs have some great looking armors (Evennia, Rurik)... I mean the art for those armors is there and it's being wasted on the NPCs and mobs. Why not make them available from unique crafters? Why not add some sort of factions to existing factions in Tyria? Like - "slay the most chosen" to get white mantle faction, exchange that faction for some new crafting material and craft yourself a white mantle armor like confessor Dorian. Same goes for the stone summit, charr, ...
This also got me thinking of diablo2 armor sets: complete set gives a new bonus. That would be nice here. While I'm at it - why not institue rings and amulets too? Like "Ring of Mindless Fame Farming" that gives +1 to I Will Avenge You. Or "Amulet of Pet Killing" that kills your pet instantly so you can activate I Will Avenge You faster.

Filling the gap between 15k and Fow armor is actually a good idea

Hmm, Cat Ears, you say? Not a bad idea. My Mesmer would love Cat Ears...
But seriously, back on topic, I think 15k armor is fine. Hell, if it's more grind you want, make the items you need for armor not available from the merchant.
That way, people will be forced to farm for the items they need to build the armor.
But more Gold? That's useless, really, IMO.
But I'm all for for more customized looks...

GW would become farm-wars defenetly than, $ trade would increase, etc etc. Not a good idea at all imho.

Nobody is forcing anyone to farm..they do it by choice, the 6k needed for droks doesnt need to be farmed if you play the game correctly there is a possibility that you might need to buy some mats but tough.
Ppl will ebay no matter what so that is just a lame excuse.
Nobody will be forced to buy this new armor IF added, its for those that want a bit of diversity in a game that lacks it and those with the cash to burn and yes another goldsink is needed.

But if people keep farming more; and keep demanding new gold sinks; we'll soon have 50 mil armor which is just rediculous and pointless. The line must be drawn at some point and we may as well make our stand now. You can choose from 15k armor from Tyria/Cantha/and soon Elona as well as FoW armor. That's plenty variety as it is.

Also why would we make Anet spend their time designing new armors when they could use that time actually adding something worthwhile instead.

Why not add more diversity into the game? As long as the stats are the same as 1.5k armor, there is no reason why there shouldn't be more expensive armors. I could never afford it though .
I don't know if having 30k, 60k, and 100k armor would be the best idea as you can't carry enough money on your character. Why not have something like 15k armor, but with more expensive materials? similar to the difference between regular 15k armor and the 15k kurzick/luxon armor.

If you just want your character to look unique their is one easy way to do this DONT USE JUST ONE ARMOUR STYLE SET. Of course if you just use 1 armour style set your gena find a clone of you. Thats why I mix diffrent sets. My ranger has 15k everything but all diffrent looks
15k original druids coat
15k original frostbound legs
15k original drakescale boots
15k original leather golves
15k canha end game mask
then my monk
15k kurzick shoes and trousers
1.5k luxon chest arms and head
also theirs about 1000 or more diffrent design combos the only thing thats lacking is peoples lack of imagination and not being able 2 see outside the box.
If you just wana show your 1337 and rich and dont mind what the armour looks like then get FoW.

Supply and demant dictates the material prices, as you might have seen with Jade/Amber,
all the 15K armours recuire "rare" materials to make

You are contradicting yourself here...
The OP wanted more expensive armor you signed that even though what you actually want is more diverse armor which isn't really the same thing.
Also as I said above why should we make Anet spend their time designing new armors when they could use that time actually adding something worthwhile instead.

As I said, if you really want to force Grind for your armor, forget raising the price.
Just make rare materials unavailable for purchase. This way, people are actually forced to farm for specific stuff and "earn" their armor.
If that's really what you want.

Yeah i like this idea too actually. I'm running out of end-game content for myself. My idea of grind was and is faction farming, so yeah i'd rather get good loot for my time then what factions had to offer for grind. I like the shard and glob deal now, i like the idea of FOW armor, even if most of it is ugly as sin. It shows accomplishment, whether earned in game or through real world money. And honestly real world money is alot harder to come by then in game cash.................... I'd love my bank account to say "100k"
And KOBD really is KOBD.... :P If you guys are grinding in this game or any other game for that matter, i think it's time you switched games or stopped playing them all together.

Because Anet need to cater for those that can make 1mill in a day with no problems.
Back in my trading days i could have a made a mill in 1 trade..when you can make that kind of money FoW armor isnt a luxury item its just armor like 1.5k armor is to a average player.
Many ppl have nothing to do but farm...there needs to be a gold sink for those ppl. Granted all those that just farm hours on end could leave the game but why should they if they like the game and like the grind of farming?
But like the weapon modding debate this is another one that wont be settled.

Works for me.
What I really want is something to do.
Note;
-I don't think titles are a worthy end game. I just think its to grey. They are kinda funny, but not worth it.
-Doing bonus on all missions is not something I care about...
I wanna trade more. I wanna sell and buy more stuff. It would be fine by me, if they added tons and tons and tons and tons and tons of uniqe and uniqe materials. Very very rare loot.
Perhaps it could work like this...
you go up to Bjorke Benjamin Wurtzswitz(let's call him that) - The best Armor crafter in all of Elonia.
Depending on what materials you bring for him, the stats, effects and bonus mods will vary. This means that making your armor will be much more personal.
Let's say you want to make a really awesome uniqe looking helmet.
Needed;
-10,000 Ectos
- 200,000 wood
- 30 Rubys
- 100 something else
- 500 something else
- 10 different uniqe parts that are scattered all over the world.
so you want skill to interfere to? then make pvp loot too - when you kill someone in pvp, or win in HoH or beat the underworld - make it so you can loot very hard stuff and other players, uniqe materials, and certain parts.
lets expand the crafting in a massive way... people always complain that GW is boring because of so little loot, and I agree.
Looting an enemy should give you tons of stuff. 4 items at least.
it would mean massive need for more storage upgrades... great opputunity here for more gold sink.
but I also think that materials should be able to be used for other things.

/Not Sure...
I do feel that as long as I have my 1.5k I'm content.. but that would esclate things market as well.
Now I would be for Reward armor that can only be done by quests / missions, etc from items that can't be traded/bought/sold. To me that would be "elite" armor.

Lawnmover are you a WoW player?
I mean GW doesn't have "end-game" content at all it's not that kind of game.
Make a new char if you're bored.
